Debod Temple was a gift from Egypt to Spain in 1968 in compensation for Spanish aid after the international call made by UNESCO to save the temples of Nubia, mainly Abu Simbel, endangered due to the construction of the Aswan Dam.
It has a history of about 2200 years.
Located in the west end of downtown, it witnesses the best sunset in town. Admission is free, but must book first by phone
