TYRAKI (which means small cheese in greek) is a really good choice for a quick snack on the road. Located in the center of Heraklion, next to Astoria Square (Milatou 29, 712 02) you will find this petite sandwich store. It is open 24 hours everyday and the best part of it is that it has pleeeenty options to make the best sandwich! All of their products are biological and many are homemade too! (If you like spicy flavours try out their homemade cheesecream (tirokafteri), mayonnaise, aubergine salad. They offer a great variety of cheese too (20 in total) so you can add in your favourite sandwich. The prices are really low for the high quality they serve. If you get the classic long toasted bread or focaccia bread you will pay 80 cents. adding tomato slices is 20 cents and it goes on. Also, all coffees cost 1,5 euros.. juuust perfect!
