Parque das Ruínas

Day Trips

Parque das Ruínas

A lovely setting accompanied by a great cultural program. The tour charm starts even before the arrival with a cable car that makes you feel in the last century. Arriving at the Ruins Park (Parque das Ruínas), many attractions await you, from exhibitions and art galleries, to the famous music meetings, accompanied by traditional local breakfast.

Parque das Ruínas
Located high in the neighborhood Santa Tereza, a bohemian neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro, has lived one of the greatest mecenas of the city's arts, Laurinda Santos Lobo. The residence, meeting point of Brazilian modernism, was the scene of numerous soirees promoted by Laurinda and attended by national and international artists such as Villa Lobos, Tarsila do Amaral, João do Rio and Isadora Duncan.
Now, the Cultural Center Ruins Park is a space focused on the production and dissemination of different forms of artistic expression such as visual arts, performing arts, music, dance and cinema.
With theater, exhibition galleries, outdoor stage, extensive gardens, panoramic terraces and a gazebo with a privileged view of the Centre region, Lapa and the whole contour of the Guanabara Bay, together with the historical and cultural value of the site reinforces its commitment to preserving the memory of the neighborhood Santa Tereza as a Rio heritage.
