Local Meeting Points
A beautiful square where drink something, relaxing and chatting with friends or simply to join crow in a chilling atmosphere. A meeting point of roman movida.
Located in the heart of Monti, the piazzetta has become a
sort of local gathering spot. At lunch, you'll find young Romans on benches tucking
into piadinas from the nearby and beloved Piadineria.
Most vibrant during late evenings and weekends, the
historical Piazza della Madonna dei Monti looks like it has been taken live
from a frame of a classy Italian film. In its center you will see a beautiful
fountain that dates back to the 16th century. The fountain was built by Giacomo
della Porta, who also built the nearby Madonna dei Monti church, and
served as the district's main water supply back in the day. It's simple and
modest as far as fountains go, but it's the perfect place to relax and refuel
on a sunny day. It is on its steps where you are most likely to find the
young Romans after sunset, drinking cocktails from plastic cups and
chain-smoking cigarettes.
