It’s actually a haven away from the crowds, designed and spot-lit like an architect’s studio, where you can cosy up with a loved one on a soft sofa. The name means Director, as in the stage or the movies, apparently because you have the power to combine the teriyaki, karai or yakitori grill sticks you desire with futa-maki or whatever-maki you desire. Just make sure you have the budget. The place is spotlessly shiny, except for a fabulous set of stairs covered in a static waterfall of white candlewax. Oh, and they know how to make a dry martini.
